Frequently Asked QuestionsFAQ 1: How do I find out if games or any other events are postponed or cancelled? ANS 1: Generally, we will have an updated message by 4:00 p.m. on this website or call your coach. You can find the link on the main page. FAQ 2: How can I help to make Chinook Little League a more successful league? ANS 2: Since Chinook Little League runs solely by volunteer help, we are in need of assistance in many areas. These areas include coaching, umpiring, team parents, and fundraisers. For more information on any of these, click on the volunteer bar on the home page or contact a board member. FAQ 3: Why does Little League have boundaries? ANS 3: Little League of America regulates each Little League to draw from a population of approximately 20,000 people. These boundaries are designed to prevent local leagues from "stacking" teams and from bringing in hand picked players from other areas. This provides the children from the local leagues area better chances to advance. FAQ 4: What if I don't live in the boundaries of Chinook Little League? ANS 4: Most likely you will have to participate in another Little League program. You can find out which program you must participate by contacting a board member. FAQ 5: I my child's uniform does not fit, who should I call? ANS 5: Contact your coach, please let your coach know what size you need Youth (S,M,L,XL) or Adult (S,M,L,XL) FAQ 6: Can I use my own batting helmet? ANS 6: Yes, although the league requires the helmet be approved by the coach! The helmet must meet NOCSAE standard and this seal must be engraved (stamped) on the back of the helmet. FAQ 7: Can I use my own bat? ANS 7: Yes, as long as it meets the requirements of Little League. Most bats indicate that they are Little League Approved. Please get your coaches approval. FAQ 8: Is my child required to wear a protective cup? ANS 8: Only Catchers are REQUIRED to wear a protective cup. However it is RECOMMENDED that all players wear a protective cup. FAQ 9: Is the uniform supplied by the league or do I need to purchase one? ANS 9: The league supplies a hat, socks, jersey and pants to all players. The jersey and pants MUST BE CLEANED and RETURNED to the league at the end of the season. FAQ 10: What equipment does the league furnish? ANS 10: The league provides each TEAM with batting helmets, bases, balls, bats & catchers gear. FAQ 11: As a Coach, what if I cannot make it to the gear and uniform distribution or pick up dates? ANS 11: If you (coach), an assistant coach or your team mom cannot make the distribution or pick date please contact your division Director for instructions.
